Da Waaagh Knight Rises
Ahoi! In this video I'll show you how I painted an ork boss dressed like Batman.The ork, that is. Not me. Batork. Or more fitting with the Warhammer 40,000 universe, a Night Lord.
I painted it as part of a challenge on my Discord server. You're welcome to join us there: discord.gg/dxYBe93A9H
The model is a 3D print by Puppetswar Miniatures.
Btw, this isn't a paid promotion. I bought the STL file for the model with mah own moniez. I just think it's really awesome. 😁

I Made A Sci-fi Wizard's Tower for Warhammer 40.000
Просмотров 4 тыс.Год назад
Hi friends! In this video I show you how I made a psyker's tower out of a Pringles can. If you don't know already, psykers are in essence the wizards and sorcerers of Warhammer 40K. That thought gave me the idea of making the sci-fi equivalent of a wizards tower. This project was part of a challenge over on the Discord channel. I really didn't plan on making it as elaborate as it ended up being...

As usual I'm focusing on Warhammer, but there's absolutely nothing stopping you from using the same concept for Ki...

    On my first day working at a sawmill I was asked to put some pallets together. I was handed a pneumatic nail gun and some planks and left too it. I didn't know I was meant to build them on this stand thing that held them up off of the ground. So I was part way into building the first pallet when I came to turn it over only to find that I had nailed it to the floor. They had to use a fork lift to pry it up off the ground. Weirdly they never asked me to make pallets again.

    For rivets you can use a 1/2mm hole punch on plasticard to get a bunch of rivets really quickly. Cutting a plasticard rod into rivet sized pieces works, too, but it's hard to get them uniform. Works better for Orky or Necromunda stuff. A small dot of superglue looks pretty good for small rivets.

    What kind of soil did you use to add onto the ground texture? Was it just literal soil from outside or store bought?

    • @thecultofcrafting
      @thecultofcrafting 3 месяца назад

      From outside. At some point I went outside, dug up some soil, sifted it, and let it dry in the summer heat for a good long while. Of course, I didn't need it immediately, otherwise I would have found some other solution.

    • @Jimmietwoshoes1

      @@thecultofcrafting any advice for needing it immediately or at least not waiting quick. I have hear putting it in the oven works.

    • @thecultofcrafting
      @thecultofcrafting 3 месяца назад

      Yeah, people do that. I did it once with sand from the beach and my oven stank of seaweed for months. The argument is that you kill off bugs and germs by baking it and that it will prevent mold. Whether there's any harm in using it straight from the ground, I can't say for sure, but I doubt it. If you store your terrain where it will exposed to moisture, mold will grow in any case - the spores are in the air. People use all kinds of things for ground texture. Pet shops and hardware stores will usually have fine sand that might work instead.

    • @thecultofcrafting
      @thecultofcrafting 4 месяца назад

      Inconsistently. 😄 I mostly use physical notebooks to make checklists of tasks. I use Notion for pretty much everything else. Managing projects, writing, brainstorming, tracking progress, storing info, etc. I have a setup for task management in Notion too, but for some reason, I tend to forget to use it. A notebook reminds me to check my task list because it's physically there.

    • @thecultofcrafting
      @thecultofcrafting 4 месяца назад

      The cool thing about the 40K universe is that it's a big place, so there's room for a lot of different looks, vibes and interpretations. My own mental image of Necromunda for example is a lot more industrial and gritty than the colorful cyberpunk look that a lot of people prefer - which is all fine. :-) The looks of the different regiments of the Imperial Guard for example are pretty much copies of real world (or movie) examples of the 19th and 20th century. The Vostroyans and Valhallans are heavily inspired by Russians uniforms, so perhaps the bunker fits with them? 😄
